## Batch export WeChat group chats

Keep project discussions, community conversations or personal memories in searchable WeChat chat archives, organized by conversation.

1. Initialize the signed-in WeChat account and preview its private or group chats.
2. Open Chats → Batch Export, confirm the account, and choose incremental or full export of local conversations.
3. Each conversation includes bodies, times, senders, readable images and downloaded files. For one chat, choose Export chat in History, then View exported files.

Files you receive: Markdown and TXT chat history, plus per-conversation image and file folders for search, copying, backup and knowledge work.

Before you start: Only messages available in your local WeChat data can be exported; deleted or unsynced chat history is not recovered.

## Batch export WeChat Official Account articles

Build a reading or research archive from followed WeChat Official Accounts. Save article text and images, not just a list of links.

1. Select a locally listed followed account and open its matching homepage in Windows WeChat.
2. Use the default Account downloads tab for a full or incremental scan of accessible articles. Stop the download when needed.
3. Alternatively, paste public URLs directly in Link downloads or save received articles, then choose View exported files.

Files you receive: An article index plus HTML, Markdown, JSON metadata and images, with a separate directory for each article.

Before you start: Keep the correct account page open during scanning. Completeness depends on what WeChat exposes; unavailable or access-restricted articles are not guaranteed.

## Batch download WeChat Channels videos

Archive a creator's accessible WeChat Channels works or videos shared in chat. Add new videos without repeating successful downloads.

1. Choose a creator from a saved Following list or other local candidates, then open the matching posts page in Windows WeChat.
2. Use the default Account downloads tab to scan all accessible posts or add new works incrementally. Task details stay visible and downloads can be stopped.
3. You can also save a current video or chat cards. Choose View exported files to open the actual task output.

Files you receive: MP4 videos and JSON metadata, grouped by Channels account with one folder per video.

Before you start: For an initial Following read or update, click Refresh before reopening Following accounts in WeChat. Saved lists can be reused and incomplete reads are marked. Keep the matching creator page open; expired videos may need playback again.

## WeChat export questions

### Can I batch export WeChat group chats with images?

Yes. Export one private or group chat from Chats → History, or archive all locally available conversations from Chats → Batch Export. Message bodies, times and senders are saved in both Markdown and TXT, with readable images and downloaded files in each conversation folder. Deleted or unsynced messages are not recovered.

### Can I batch export articles from any followed WeChat Official Account?

Choose a followed account found on this computer, then open its matching homepage in Windows WeChat to scan and download accessible articles. Full and incremental modes are available. Public article links can also be pasted in batches. Following an account does not guarantee access to every historical article; deleted, restricted or unavailable content cannot be promised.

### Can I batch download videos from any WeChat Channels account?

Choose a creator from a saved Following list or candidates in profile cache, chat cards and Favorites. For an initial read or update, click Refresh before reopening Following accounts in Windows WeChat; incomplete reads are clearly marked. Open the selected creator’s posts page for full or incremental downloads, or download a current video or chat card. Private, deleted, expired or otherwise restricted content is not bypassed.

### Which file formats do WeChat exports use?

Chats save Markdown and TXT, with images and files directories per conversation. Official Account articles include HTML, Markdown, JSON metadata and images. Channels saves video.mp4 and video.json per video. Use these files for local search, backup, reading or your own knowledge workflow.

## Keep WeChat archives on your computer

No. Source chat content, article bodies, videos, database keys, and exports remain on your computer. The licensing service receives only account, order, entitlement, device public-key fingerprint, irreversible hardware summary, and audit metadata needed for activation.

## What is open source, and what requires payment?

Only the WechatExporter Skill repository is publicly open source. The Windows desktop client, CLI, local API, and bundled MCP runtime are proprietary. Standard monthly and yearly licenses grant use of the client; source access is available only through a separate commercial source code license.
