What is OmniExporter?

OmniExporter is the project and website brand behind WechatExporter. WechatExporter is the Windows desktop product that exports accessible WeChat chats, Official Account articles and Channels videos into local files.

This website publishes the installer, illustrated documentation and product updates, and provides accounts, paid licenses and support. The OmniExporter GitHub profile and official WechatExporter Skill repository identify the project's public presence.

What can WechatExporter save?

• Chats: private and group conversations as Markdown and TXT, with readable local images and downloaded files when available.
• Official Accounts: accessible article text, images and indexes, with HTML, Markdown and JSON outputs.
• Channels: accessible videos as MP4 with JSON information, organized by creator and work.

The desktop interface defaults to Chinese and can switch to English. The current release is WechatExporter 1.1.0 for Windows 10/11 x64, published on 2026-10-03. View the current download and release notes.

Who maintains the product and documentation?

OmniExporter maintains and publishes this website, the WechatExporter product information and the user manual. Documentation uses demonstration data for screenshots, describes the actual output files, and records known requirements and limitations. The dates shown on each page reflect that content's update history.

Where does my WeChat content go?

Chat bodies, article text, downloaded videos, database keys and exported files remain on your computer by default. The website handles accounts, payments, licensing, updates and support; it does not receive chat archives as part of activation. Only send support information that is needed to investigate a problem. Read the privacy policy.

Export completeness depends on the data present locally and what WeChat currently makes accessible. Deleted or unsynchronized chats cannot be recovered by an export, and account downloads do not bypass private or restricted content. The product is independent software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tencent or WeChat.

What is open source?

The WechatExporter Skill is open source under the Apache-2.0 license in its official repository. The Windows desktop client and its bundled CLI, local API and MCP runtime are proprietary commercial software and require a valid paid license.
