Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy applies to the WechatDataCollect website, account and order services, online licensing service, and official desktop client. Open-source Skill, MCP Server, or community builds may be self-hosted; third-party instances are outside our control.

WechatDataCollect is not an official WeChat or Tencent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Tencent.

Local content is not uploaded for licensing

The desktop client reads and processes WeChat content that you are authorized to access on your computer. Chat bodies, contact data, Official Account article bodies, video files, WeChat database keys, and export folders remain local by default. They are not uploaded to this website for account login, payment, or license activation.

If you voluntarily send logs, screenshots, or samples through a ticket, email, or another support channel, we use them only to handle that request. Remove personal information that is not necessary before submitting material.

Information we process

To operate the website and commercial licensing service, we may process:

1. Account information: name, email address, secure credential hashes, account status, and sign-in records.
2. Orders and entitlements: plan, amount, currency, order and subscription identifiers, payment result, refund, and chargeback status. Full payment credentials are handled by payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
3. Online activation information: license identifier, device display name, platform and app version, device public-key fingerprint, installation identifier, irreversible hardware summary, activation and renewal times, IP address, and necessary security audit results.
4. Website operations: browser type, cookies, request logs, errors, and basic analytics or customer-service data when those optional services are enabled.
5. Support information: ticket text, attachments, and correspondence you choose to submit.

The online licensing service does not require your WeChat password, chat content, or exported content.

Purposes and legal bases

We use this information to create and secure accounts, complete transactions, issue and renew licenses, enforce device seats, prevent activation-code abuse, provide updates and support, meet accounting and legal duties, and protect the service. We process data only as necessary to perform a contract, with consent, to meet legal obligations, or for legitimate security interests.

Cookies and service providers

The website may use cookies required for sign-in and language preferences. Depending on deployment configuration, we may use vendors for payments, email, identity, abuse prevention, analytics, object storage, and customer support. They receive only the information needed to perform their service and process it under their own policies.

Retention

Account and active entitlement data is generally kept while the account remains open. Order and financial records are retained as required by applicable law. Security and activation logs are retained only as long as needed for diagnostics, abuse prevention, and dispute handling. After account deletion, data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required or necessary to resolve disputes or prevent fraud.

Security

Safeguards include HTTPS, access controls, separation of signing keys from the business database, one-way hashing of activation codes and refresh tokens, short-lived signed leases, and audit records. No network or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your password, activation codes, and devices protected.

Your choices and rights

Account settings let you update your profile, review orders and licenses, reset an activation code, and release devices. You may also request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information relating to you. Disabling optional analytics or support tools may require browser cookie controls or contacting us.

Children

The service is intended for users with legal capacity to enter a contract and is not directed to children. A guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us to request review and deletion.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product, vendors, or law changes and will update the date above. For privacy, deletion, or security requests, use the support email in the website footer or the ticket system after signing in.
