Terms of Service
Terms for the WechatDataCollect website, official client, and commercial licensing service.
Last updated: 2026-08-16
Acceptance
By creating an account, purchasing a plan, activating an official client, or continuing to use the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept them for that organization.
WechatDataCollect is not an official WeChat or Tencent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Tencent. Compatibility may change when third-party software changes.
Product components
Open-source Skill, MCP Server, client source, and build instructions are provided under the licenses published in their repositories. A paid plan purchases official signed releases, updates and compatibility maintenance during the term, online device seats, commercial service entitlements, and the stated support. It does not transfer ownership of WeChat data or third-party content.
Online activation and offline licensing are alternative methods. Most users activate and renew over the internet. An offline license may be issued separately for an agreed enterprise or isolated-network use case.
Lawful and authorized use
You may process only content that you own, obtained lawfully, or are expressly authorized to access. You are responsible for applicable law, privacy duties, employment and data-protection requirements, and third-party platform rules. You must not use the product for unauthorized access, bypassing access controls, bulk harassment, surveillance of others, infringing distribution, sale of personal information, or illegal activity.
The product is a local data-organization tool. It does not grant rights in source content or authorize your purpose or later distribution. Rights of chat participants, contacts, authors, and video publishers must still be respected.
Accounts, codes, and devices
Provide accurate contact information and protect passwords, activation codes, and devices. Activation codes may not be publicly posted, resold, or shared beyond the users or organization covered by a plan. When the device limit is reached, release an old device in the license center. Abnormal activations, token replay, payment disputes, or apparent abuse may trigger temporary limits or manual review.
Pricing, renewal, and refunds
The price, currency, taxes, and billing period shown at checkout control the purchase. Subscriptions are charged at the beginning of each period unless canceled before renewal. After cancellation, access normally continues through the paid period. A perpetual license exists only when the order and license expressly say so.
Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Because digital software is delivered on activation, a purchase is not automatically refundable solely because it is no longer needed or a local environment is incompatible. Duplicate charges, failure to deliver, or material defects may be submitted for review through support. Refunds, chargebacks, or fraudulent payments may suspend or revoke the related entitlement.
Updates, availability, and support
We make reasonable efforts to maintain official releases but cannot promise immediate compatibility with every change to WeChat, operating systems, networks, or security tools, or that any collection method will remain available forever. Maintenance may modify, replace, or retire an implementation, with release notes or website notice where practical. Support levels and response targets are defined by the purchased plan or a separate agreement.
You are responsible for backups of local data and exports. Keep a recoverable copy before updates, exports, or bulk operations.
Intellectual property
Rights in each open component are governed by its repository license. Rights in the website brand, non-open server code, signing keys, commercial distributions, and operational content are reserved by their respective owners. WeChat, Tencent, and related marks belong to their owners.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts and commercial entitlements for breach, security threats, fraudulent payment, or legal requirements. For an ordinary remediable breach, we will provide an explanation or appeal path where reasonable. Termination does not remove payment, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or liability obligations already accrued.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, open components and software are provided “as is.” We do not guarantee continued operation of third-party services and are not responsible for loss caused by processing content without authority, missing backups, platform-rule violations, third-party updates, or force majeure. Liability that cannot lawfully be excluded remains governed by law; otherwise, aggregate liability is generally limited to the amount you paid for the relevant commercial service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Changes, governing terms, and contact
We may update these terms and the date above. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of materially adverse changes, which normally will not retroactively alter a paid period. Before public launch, the operator identity, registered address, governing law, and dispute venue must be stated on the website or order. A separately signed agreement prevails if it conflicts with these terms.
For order, license, or terms questions, use the support email in the website footer or the ticket system after signing in.
